Many consider the iPhone 5s as the best iPhone yet. It makes sense that the latest refresh should trump previous generations. In terms of design and quality, the iPhone 5s follows a similar framework to that of the iPhone 5. Its predecessor featured an extremely well-made build and so does the 5s. This also makes the iPhone 5s as one of the best-looking handsets to date. 

Design features include precision-cut aluminium back and glass panels. It also sports neat edges that fit just right against a user's hand at 7.3 mm thick. The device only weighs 112 g. People will not have a hard time carrying the device because it is as light as they can imagine it to be.

Samsung has yet to release its Samsung Galaxy S5, but the market has already been buzzing about it. According to reports, the device will run on an Exynos 6 family high performance processor with 64-bit support. While Samsung has not confirmed this officially, the company did announce before that all products to be released in 2014 will already feature the 64-bit processor. The processor will also come with 3 GB RAM. Other features include 16 MP camera with ISOCELL technology, Android 4.4 KitKat and 1,080p display. 

According to sources, Samsung will release the device around January 2014. Analysts point out that the Korean tech giant has to catch up with competitors like Google and Apple which have released their own 5 series.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a discontinued 4G Smartphone operating on 2G, 3G, and 4G network bands using GSM, HSPA, and LTE technologies. It was unveiled to the public on February 2014 and released on April 2014 measuring 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 millimeters and weighing 145 grams. It uses micro-SIM card and built with plastic body.

It is IP67 dust and water resistant certified (up to one (1) meter for thirty (30) minutes). It has Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

It ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI powered by 28 nm Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2.5 GHz Quad-Core Krait 400 processor, and Adreno 330 GPU. It supports microSD expandable up to 256 GB. It runs on 2 GB RAM with internal storage available in 16 GB and 32 GB capacities.

The primary camera supports 16 megapixels with f/2.2, 31mm (standard), 1/2.6″, 1.12µm, and PDAF featuring LED flash, panorama, and HDR and can record video in 2160p at 30 fps, 1080p at 60 fps, and 720p at 120 fps featuring HDR and dual-video rec. The secondary camera supports 2 megapixels with f/2.4 and 22mm (wide) featuring dual video call and can record video in 1080p at 30 fps.

It has 3.5-millimeter jack featuring active noise cancellation with dedicated mic; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, and hotspot support; Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, EDR, LE, and aptX support; GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and BDS support; NFC; infrared; and microUSB 3.0 with MHL 2.1 TV-out and USB Host support. It doesn’t have FM radio.

It has built-in front-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, gesture, and heart rate sensors with ANT+, S-Voice natural language commands and dictation, and air gestures. It runs on removable Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery with standby time up to 390 hours and talk time up to 21 hours. It supports Qi/PMA wireless charging. It is available in Charcoal Black, Copper Gold, Electric Blue, and Shimmery White colors.
