How do I make my Samsung galaxy S5 smartphone to work properly after the screen gone blank? I have recently installed an app and the app is causing the Samsung s5 to malfunction, I later tried to uninstall the app, but it won’t uninstall thereby leaving me with no option than factory reset which I did. After the reset the phone screen gone blank. What cause the phone to go blank? Is the screen the problem or other hardware?

The problem could be a hardware or software issue. It is possible that the SD card got corrupted. Try to remove your SD card then try to turn on your phone and if it worked then it is the SD card causing the problem. It could be cause by the case or cover you are using also, try removing it and check if the phone will start up. If it doesn't start up still then try to check if you see light on the menu key of the phone, or if you can feel the vibration or hear a tone if you try to turn it on, if that is the case then you need to return it to the store that you bought it because possible that they need to have the screen replaced or they need to reinstall the software for your Samsung Galaxy S5.

Turn your mobile off and take off the battery and put back again.

Press volume down, home button and power button until mobile vibrates.
Select the Wipe All The Data by using the volume buttons.
After that select All by using the power button mobile will be formatted.
After that select the reboot.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that had gone blank after factory resetting it, you probably did the procedure incorrectly or the method you tried is for a different brand of phone and not for Samsung. Not every Android device has settings with the same name or in the same place. To do the factory resetting correctly, follow the guide according to your phone brand or manufacturer.

Since your phone had gone blank after factory resetting, there’s no other way but to factory reset it again. If nothing seems to work, the last possible option is to re-flash your phone but this will require a stock version of your Android operating system for Samsung Galaxy S5 which is hard to find.

To hard reset your Samsung Galaxy S5 since it is now unresponsive, first, make sure the battery is fully charged then remove the memory card and SIM card. Next, press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears. On the next screen, press the Volume Down button to scroll down and select “wipe data/factory reset”.

Press the Power button to Enter or execute. Next, scroll down to “Yes — delete all user data” and press the Power button to Enter. After this, the phone will begin wiping the contents of the device. When it is finished, press the Power button to reboot the system. And that’s it. The phone will reboot to the initial setup screen.
