Receiving an error on VAIO recovery tool

I am running Vista and Just I have used the VAIO recovery tool on it.

But when I want to start some programs, it shows the following message:

'The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Please see the application event log for more detail.'

I am in doubt why this occurs. Please help someone.

Dear User,

The most common reason to have this error "Side-by-side configuration is incorrect",

Is because your System doesn't have or missing the correct c++ runtime component .

Try installing it using this link, I am assuming that you are having a x86 version of windows.

If not you can easily select before you download it.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Receiving an error on VAIO recovery tool

Hello Dear,

Here you need to take some steps to solve this problem. These are described below:

1. Need to check File System

a)You can use System file checker in this purpose

b)Go to run from start menu. Then accessories and run command prompt as an administrator

c)Type sfc /scannow and press enter

d)The scan process will be continued for some moments. This will correct the proper version of windows

2. Need to perform Check disk

a)Right click on each disk and go to properties

b)Under tools tab, you will find check disk option.

c)Run check disk for every drive
