Hi,

I've just set up Commonalities on my Mac and then MS Win7. I need to install a program that requires a NET Structure. When I try to obtain NET Structure from the MS website, I get the following message: "C:UsersAdministratorAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindowsTemporary Online FilesContent.IE55SOFW5UAdotNetFx40_Full_setup.exe is not a real Win32 application". Do you know how to fix this issue?

Thank you,

Eduardo.

Problems obtaining NET Structure on a Windows partition

Win32 is a technical name for .exe file. The most probable cause is that the file you wanted to download was not downloaded fully. The window initially recognizes it as an executable file but upon executing it finds that its not working thus it gives the error "Not a valid win32 application"

Here is what I recommend

  • Delete the file
  • Download it again.
  • If it works then cheers, if not then download it from elsewhere……

In my opinion it will definitely work because the other probable cause is the file on MS website being corrupt and downloading it from elsewhere will solve that problem also.
