Problems with Baidu anti virus?

Hey friends,

I use Avast antivirus for my windows 8.1 and this PC is new just a week old. I got an adware in my PC while downloading a software from unknown source. So what I did is removed that adware and scanned m PC completely to check if any virus is there Avast showed nil results. To double check I uninstalled Avast and the installed Baidu anti virus and it showed that my PC is still infected and when I clicked to remove the threat it won't do anything. So please tell me which anti virus I should trust now and use it

There is more than one solution to your problem of  unwanted adware

Solution 1.

Since you have said that your PC is just one week old,  assuming that you have not accumulated a lot of data on it, back up your data and restore your laptop to factory settings. This is generally done from the BIOS settings or using the options given during the boot process. They vary with the manufacturer.  Since you have not mentioned the manufacturer, detailed help could not be provided here. A general search on the internet along with the make and model of your machine would guide you in that direction.

Solution 2

Uninstall Baidu and try a third Anti Virus Solution. It might actually help removing the adware.

Regarding trusting Anti Virus solutions, each one is as good as the other. No one Anti Virus can be recommended.
