The led light for "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" is indicating that there is a problem. I need the device to perform or else nothing of my games work,  and I am not very familiar about the driver, so I do not know why or where to download the right driver. Please help.

First thing you need to do is to look for what is the model and version of your computer. If you know what the model of your computer is, you can then go to their website to look for the drivers that comes with the hardware installed on your computer. Once you found the correct drivers, you can download them and install on your computer.
Once you have the drivers installed, you can then go to your Device manager via Start > Settings Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. You can then see if your VGA is having an exclamation point or x mark on it.
