It is true that Kaspersky Anti-Virus often makes your computer run a bit slow. You can Pause your protection in Kaspersky AntiVirus when security is not necessary when you are doing a heavy job with your computer.

Or else, it will probably make your computer work slower and when you click three applications at a time, it will make your computer freeze and posses (Not Responding) message in the title. All the applications you double click will appear after waiting for an hour. If you are active enough to pause your Kaspersky protection, it is easy to avoid this kind of complications.

That problem is certainly common to installing an antivirus. That’s why checking the antivirus’ system requirements is essential because it will give you an idea on the amount of resources the program will need to run.

If your computer became very slow as a result of installing an antivirus, you can improve its performance by upgrading your system like for example upgrading the processor by buying a new processor that is much faster than the one you are using. Another component of the computer that you need to upgrade is the memory.

Adding more RAM to your computer will improve the machine’s data access therefore speeding up the processing. On the other hand, if you don’t want to upgrade anything on your computer, the best thing to do is to replace your antivirus with the one that requires much lesser resources.

One way of checking if your computer will go slow after installing the antivirus is to install the free version of the antivirus. Unfortunately, I don’t think Kaspersky has a free version. One antivirus that offers a free version is Avast. To try this, download Avast Free Antivirus. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.
