Please illuminate about the Windows 10 new features called Windows Hello

Windows has included a biometric verification platform within Windows 10, called Windows Hello.  This means that you will be able to log into a computer, or a tablet, or a smartphone, or at times even websites by either means of fingerprint, facial or iris scanning.  This means that as long as any Windows 10 device has either of the 3 necessary sensors (fingerprint scanner, eye scanned or an IR sensor that can authenticate facial recognition), you will be able to login to the device without having to type any passwords.

No matter who the manufacturer of the specified device is, the biometric log-in experience will be consistent.  Windows Hello will be able to work with any existing fingerprint scanners once it’s upgraded to Windows 10.  Face and iris recognition will work with any manufacturer’s device that has the Intel® RealSense™ 3D Camera (F200).  Currently, no single Windows Phone has been released with a fingerprint scanner, although Windows 10 mobile devices will support Hello.

In February Microsoft announced that it would be joining the Fast Identity Online (FIDO) Alliance. FIDO provides specifications that offers a way for websites to support biometric authentication, without the need for having to enter passwords.  These protocols that are used by FIDO provide a much stronger key cryptography system.
