What exactly is this open source robotics foundation is about ? What they do ? Does it provide free robotics development tools ? Where can we download such tools online?

Open Source Robotics Foundation is about?

Hi Gregory, the OSRF or Open Source Robotics Foundation was founded by robotics, robotics-enthusiasts, basically members of the global robotics community. It as an independent and non-profit organization that aims to help in the development, distribution and implementation of open source software that can be used to educate and assist in robotics research, as well as product development.

They currently have two sponsored projects (Gazebo and ROS). There are also other open source projects that are related to the OSRF, which are the Arduino Platform and the Make a difference database.

To download these tools, you can go to their website (https://www.osrfoundation.org/) then go to the get involved tab. On that page, they have a link to their two sponsored projects. You can download the software from their individual websites.
