Hi Joanna,
Usually, when we purchase an Office Home and Business 2010 and Office Professional 2010 CD, it comes with three licenses. Those three licenses you can definitely used on more than one computer. You just need to make sure that you have asked the retailer on what is included on the CD you are purchasing. There are some CD’s that only come with one license and can therefore only be installed on one computer.
Please also do take note that you cannot install Office Home and Business 2010 and Office Professional 2010 for Windows on a Macintosh computer as they have two different settings.

I think you are referring to the license key of each of the products. Usually when purchasing any software especially from Microsoft, the validity of the product for installation on other computers or workstations still depends on the application’s license key. Before purchasing it or in the process of purchasing it from the software store, it indicates the number of computers where you can install it. Selecting the number of computers in the purchase form sets the validity of the license key.
If you select only 1 computer then the license for the product is only valid for 1 computer. If you select 3 computers then you are free to install it on up to 3 computers or workstations. Beyond that is already illegal and the software installed on the computer that exceeds the limit might not work properly since the system detects which license codes are valid and which is not and it will not be able to receive any support or updates.
Superb guys, all of your solutions are appropriate and accommodating. I constantly fall back upon the Techyv experts so persistently I have visited this site for my desired information. All solutions were good but I wish to remark Sharath for his undoubtedly recommendation that before purchasing I need to select the number of computers in the purchase from sets the validity of the license key. Selecting one computer then the license for the product is only valid for one computer as well as selecting 3 computers then I am free to install it on up to 3 workstations, this piece of news was not cognizant to me before researching your post. Your comments are very understandable to the viewers because it would give us full information regarding the Microsoft product software. Thanks one more time Sharath for your smart deliberation.
