Hello experts! I have Windows 7 Ultimate in my system. Yesterday, when I was installing a few queued updates, I witnessed an error message that read “STOP: error code 8024402C. The exact error was found to be Windows 7 update error code 8024402C. Please help me find a solution.

this error usually occurs when there is another running software which is preventing the update installation. Those software could be either anti-virus programs or other internet security software like Firewalls.

If your case is similar to it, then you will have to check for such programs and disable them. To turn OFF the anti-virus follow these steps:

• Open the search pane > settings > go to action centre > chevron (besides security) >disable the anti-virus software.

You can also try the following steps:

• Open Command Prompt > type following commands:

–    net start bits

–    net start uwauserv
