Novell nss: How will i know if it already started

novell nss: It's my first time to use NSS on my PC. I got confused everytime I open it because i don't know if it already started or not. Should there be a confirmation or notice if you NSS had already started? If none, how will I know if it's already working?

Novell nss: How will i know if it already started

In the linux terminal, type nssmu command and if you are seeing the following error message, it is an indication that NSS is not running on your machine.

         systst-ts-74:~ # nssmu

NSS Management Utility – ERROR Either the Admin volume was not found or you don't have rights to access it.

Novell nss: How will i know if it already started

Hi,

NSS is a scanning system that checks processes of your computer.  You didn’t mention if it is running on Linux or on Windows.  

 

My solution here is for Windows computer.  To check if your NSS is already running, check your Task Manager for the nss.exe under the Processes tab.  You can open your Windows Task Manager by right-clicking on your toolbar and click on Start Task Manager.  Select the Processes tab and look for the nss.exe.  If it is there then it is already running in your system.
