Resolution 1:

  • Try publishing the 32 bit version of Notepad from the SYSWOW64 folder.
  • You can also try copying Notepad.exe to the program files folder.

Resolution 2:

The Logon control mode for the server could be having prohibit logons and reconnection. You will need to changes to allows logons and reconnection.

Tyler

Have you tried to change the static IP address of your XenApp server that hosts the application (Notepad) that you are trying to launch? Because this is most likely the reason why you received this error. The reason for this is because of an issue with the httpd.conf file on your XenApp server that is not yet updated with the new server IP address. This .conf file is used in Citrix XTE Server service which is being used for Session Reliability. So if it contains of wrong information, you will note be able to launch your application.

To fix this, you need to stop the Citrix XTE Server process. And then search for the httpd.conf file on your server. You can find it under your Citrix conf folder in C:. Launch httpd.conf through Notepad. Search for the old IP address of the server and then change it with the new IP address. Save your changes and then launch the Citrix XTE Server service.
