Nokia Lumia 900 taking over iPhones and Androids

I am also very much interested in comparison of Microsoft, Apple and Android phones. Microsoft and Nokia together launched their latest phone named LUMIA 900 in April. It has a tough competition with Apple IPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy series. Microsoft is trying to develop better and better operating system for smartphones. Here I am going to explain different features of LUMIA 900.

Size and weight: 127×68×11 mm and 160 grams

Display: Amold capacitive touch screen with 16 million colors and 800×480 pixels

OS and memory: Microsoft Windows 7 mango with 512 MB ram and 16 GB internal memory

CPU and GPU: 1.4GHZ scorpion and 205 adrenal

Camera: 8 MP primary with carl Zeiss and 1.3 MP secondary, 720P 30fps video

Others: Gorilla glass, 4G, WiFi, GPs, geo tagging, Micro Sim card support only, Fm   radio, Document editor

Price: 500 $ without any contract.

Now If we compare with IPhone 4S and latest android phones,

Lumia 900 CPU speed is low as compare to IPhone 4S and Samsung galaxy series, almost all latest android phones and 4S have dual core processors but Lumia 900 has 1.4 GHZ single core processor.

Lumia 900 ram is just 512 Mb while Apple and android are available in 1.0 GB rams.

It is little heavier in weight than its competitors.

Its video capturing is 720p as compare to 1080 p in apple 4S.

It don’t have external card slot as compare to Samsung android phones.

But good thing is that Lumia 900 supports 4G while Apple $s don’t. and editing of documents is lot more easier on Lumia 900 as compare to apple or android.

It price is low as compare to its competitors.

And a more typical difference is about the applications, nokia has a big collection of mobile apps but it lacks the famous apps like cut the rope, Pandora etc.

So if you are planning to buy it then think about your preferences wisely.

Nokia Lumia 900 taking over iPhones and Androids

Since some of the details about Nokia Lumia 900 have been explained in the previous post, I will just put the specifications of the handset. The new Nokia Lumia 900 is also known as Nokia Lumia 900 RM-823. It runs only on 2G and 3G networks and doesn’t support the latest 4G network.

This Nokia model was announced in February of 2012 and was released in May 2012, 3 months after it was unveiled. It measures 127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 millimeters and weighs around 160 grams or about 5.64 ounces. It supports AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixels screen resolution.

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and or Nokia ClearBlack display. It supports 3.5 millimeter jack for the headset. Unfortunately, the unit doesn’t support microSD card but it has a built-in internal storage of around 16 GB and running on 512 MB RAM. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for wireless network, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR, and microUSB 2.0.

The primary camera supports 8 megapixels at 3264 x 2448 pixels screen resolution and features Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, and dual-LED flash. It also supports Geo-tagging and can record video in 720p at 30 fps with video stabilization. The secondary camera supports 1 megapixel in VGA and at 15 fps.

It runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango on Qualcomm APQ8055 Snapdragon chipset, 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor, and Adreno 205 GPU. It has Accelerometer, compass, gyro, and proximity sensors. For internet access, it supports HTML5. It has A-GPS support and GLONASS for the GPS feature. The handset doesn’t support Java.

Similar to Sony Xperia, the Nokia Lumia 900 also has a non-removable Li-Ion battery with a standby time of up to 300 hours on both 2G and 3G networks while talk time is up to 7 hours also on 2G and 3G networks. It is capable of playing music of up to 60 hours. It is priced at around 190 Euros.
