I am attempting to join Citrix Provisioning Server with an existing farm but I encountered a "No Farms" error. There is an existing farm in the database. A friend told me that is caused by the Provisioning Server Version that is conflicting with each other. How can I confirm that? And also, how can I correct this error?

No Farms Error in Joining Provisioning Server

Hi there Vince,

Your problem of attempting to join Citrix Provisioning Server with an existing farm but you encountered a "No Farms" error. The cause of it is that there are several possible causes for the certain error, most common cause being that Provisioning Server software installed on the server attempting to join the farm is an older version than any other servers that are already farm members. To confirm whether the error is occurring because of Provisioning Server version 'mismatch', access the cw_mapi.log file. The default location for the cw_mapi.log is c:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataCitrixProvisioning Server.

To check the version of a Provisioning Server environment, from the Provisioning Server console, right-click the Farm and selected Version. A window will pop up with detailed version. Resolution, ensure that all Provisioning Servers are running the same version of the product before attempting to join a server to an existing farm. To isolate this issue and verify, (The account logged in to the machine is a member of a group that's been configured for the Farm Admin or Site Admin role), (DNS server functions as it should.)
