I am implementing a new installation for my new server which is running on a different machine and the only thing I have to ask is whether you are using active directory or do you have a domain? Considering that I intend on having only one server in the network and also want to keep this simple, do we really need active directory? Please bear in mind that we only have 10 staff members.

New installation for new server need active directory

Hello Trevor King,

Even if you have 10 staff members and they spread in various offices which are distributed in the organization, I think you will need to have active directories. Active directories will make the working environment reliable for the staff members by providing an environment that is more secure and manageable and thus making the lives and work easier.

Active directories will tremendously reduce the burden of Information technology administration, security will be enhanced and therefore reducing worries among the users about the server going down, fault tolerance of the server will be improved the downtime for handling it minimized too.

Also importantly, any capabilities of active directory enabled applications will be leveraged. Hence you will need active directories to effectively run the business.
