Continuous error code 0xc0000142 that says ‘the application was unable to start properly.’ How do I get past this problem in initializing an application. It has started to occur with two applications lately.
To solve this, open the Run window. Give command “REGEDIT”. In the Registry Editor, expand all the levels until the Windows key gets highlighted in the path. Then double-click the LoadAppInit_DLLs value. Replace it with 0 and reboot.
If you receive error code “0xc0000142” when starting an application, first, make sure the program is compatible with your operating system and your computer meets the requirements. Visit the website where you downloaded it and check its system requirements.
If the program requires prerequisite components like Microsoft .NET Framework or Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and others, you should install those prerequisite application components first prior to installing the actual application. If this doesn’t work, try to uninstall and reinstall the affected application. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it.
Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select the program in error among the applications and click “Uninstall.” Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and then delete everything it finds. This will remove everything the program created on your computer. After this, install the program again then see if it works.
If this doesn’t fix it, try installing the latest version of the program or install any available patch if there is any.
