Need help in setting up the acer wireless mouse

I have a 15.6" LCD Acer Aspire E1-531-4632 with 2.20 GHz Dual Core processor, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB HDD and running on Windows 8.  I recently bought an Acer 520 dpi USB wireless optical mouse as I am having a hard time using the touchpad.  The thing is, when I inserted the USB to a port, it did not detect the mouse.  I need help in setting up the Acer wireless mouse.  Thanks.

Hey,

As you have stated above when you inserted the USB into the port it did not detect the mouse. Well, l that may have many reasons behind it and you need to detect the one in your case. You can easily solve every issue just go follow Troubleshoot failure to find new mouse connected to your USB port.

Hello Carlos Blakke,

 

Did you follow all instructions during the setup/installation phase?

 

You have to keep note of the following troubleshooting steps:

 

1. Check if you have correctly inserted the batteries in their place. If yes, be sure that they are correctly charged.

2. For a successful activation of the mouse, make sure that you do not have electromagnetic devices around wireless USB (more than 20 cm away)

3. Make sure that you have pressed the Power Switch which is found under the mouse (Switch ON/OFF Key).

4. Also you have to be careful to use the mouse over the appropriate surface materials (glass, metallic, are not allowed)

5. After installing, check if any updates are needed for the installed application, and try to install them.
