Need help fixing “status:0xc00000e9” error

Hi, my laptop just wouldn’t start and every time I try to use it, a message is being displayed on the screen, “status:0xc00000e9”. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista and I don't have any idea how to go about this error.

Please let me know what I must do.

Hi Hannah,

                The error message is trying to tell you that it can’t communicate with the hard disk properly. Basically you will probably need to remove all unnecessary devices that are plugged into your laptop. And reboot. If that doesn’t you should:

                Use the Vista Installation Disk and press any key if it prompts you to “press any key to boot from CD or DVD”, select language time and currency then choose the repair your computer option. In the system recovery menu select the drive of your windows installation disk and click next. Then pick select System restore and just follow the wizard and finally click FINISH to restore the system.
