Hi,

I have this error when I want to install NCbackgrounder on my laptop with Mountain Lion OS. A friend of mine uses the same program without a problem and I think I am the only one who has this kind of error. Any solution for this error ? Can this error be solved ?

Thanks !

“NCbackgrounder.app” is from an unidentified developer. Are you sure you want to open it?

Opening “NCbackgrounder.app” will always allow it to run on this Mac

Since the dialog box offered an option that allows you to open the app then that’s good news. Because there are instances where the operating system doesn’t give an option to open the program if it is from an unidentified developer or it is an unsigned application. Since there is an option, try clicking Open and see if the app will open.

You will see that message on an unsigned app with an option to open it if you right-click on the app and you select Open and then you will get that dialog box with the Open button. But if you will double-click on the unsigned app, a different dialog box will appear that doesn’t have the Open button. See image.

The reason why you get that dialog box on unsigned apps is because of the Gatekeeper. Its major function is to stop malware such as Trojan horses and viruses from getting into your Mac. This is done by Gatekeeper by default which only allows applications downloaded from identified and trusted developers or from the Mac App Store.
