My motherboard cant see all my RAM Memory. I have a Biostar P4M900-M7 FE, windows 7 x64 as an operating system and a Kingston KVR800D2N5K2/4G as RAM memory. Well, the OS sees 4 GB but it only uses 3 GB, while the BIOS only sees 3 GB. I have tested the memory kit on other motherboards and it works ok.

What could be wrong on mine?

Hi JamieMunsch,

You can easily resolve this issue by following method

  • First you have to shut down the computer and keep the computer 3-5 minutes to discharge the capacitors of the motherboard. If the capacitors have changed then RAM would not able to show fully dump memory.
  • Then turn on your computer and at the time the computer will show how much memory has used. If full memory will not appear then it is coming from hardware issue.
  • Then you need to check the RAM that is correctly in Socket. If it will not then follow your manufacturer documents and connected it correctly into socket.
  • You can use another set of Ram to verify your problem. If the problem still exists then you need to seek a computer technician.
