My friend tried to use my free AVG number to activate his licensed  Anti-virus. His Anti-virus was not activated despite putting it in the right format.

What could be the problem?

Well obviously the key ( It is not a number it is called as a key) that you are using is incorrect. Every number that you enter in that format wont work and only the keys that you have bought from the AVG site will work. Don't download such keys from random sources as they can be having virus or Trojans.

If you want to buy AVG visit the following link http://www.avg.com/in-en/buy-antivirus

Hope it helped thanks!

Hello There

I see the point here. The key you both shared with each other may be applicable to only one computer.

The serial you used is already registered to your PC (IP) that is why your friend can no longer use it.

AVG anti-virus have some products for home users (1 to 3 users) for business mobiles and for company use.

Maybe your serial is intended for single use only.

Try purchasing a new license so that the both of you can avail and enjoy full privileges.

I hope I helped you.

Hi,

The antivirus or any software that get updates takes the ip address of your computer. Your ip address and the avg key are used when you have installed the avg antivirus. Now your friend is also using the same key which you have used and when his ip address is forwarded with same key it gives the error. The only way is to get a new key as your key is only applicable to your pc. I hope you will be satisfied by my answer.

Kinds Regards,

Asad
