MS Office Outlook 2010 unable to open emails

Hi everyone,

We have installed Outlook 2010 32bit on all PC's in our organization.

Some users are unable to open certain emails which may be some sort of Excel or graph in them.

The same email which some user can open and some can’t. I need a tool and want to use it to check what the differences are. The software on all PC is same. Windows 7 64Bit Office 2010 32Bit.

All installs for office was done with the same MSP file.

MS Office Outlook 2010 unable to open emails

MS office outlook 2010 may be unable to open a email for various causes. But the main cause may be corruption. I mean that your Outlook PST file may be corrupted.

Outlook PST file my be corrupted for a number of reasons like abrupt system shutdown, oversized PST file or virus attack. So please run Inbox repair tool or scanpst.exe. It can effectively scans the PST file and removes all the causes of the corruption.

If this does not work then please try to use a third party PST repair tool. I think this can solve your problem. However you can try another method but you will lose some custom view and toolbar settings.

To do this rename four dat files : outcmd.dat,frmcache.dat,views.dat,extend.dat.

MS Office Outlook 2010 unable to open emails

The cause of this error message may be that u use GFI MailSecurity for Microsoft Exchange/SMTP antivirus program on the Exchange server machine. This antivirus adds file locks on attached files. A workaround of this problem according to Microsoft Support Page is to try to disable the GFI MailSecurity antivirus program when the Exchange server is temporarily isolated from the network. To apply this workaround, please try to follow the detailed instructions needed in Microsoft support page under the title " You receive a cannot open this item error message" in this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/895523
