Microsoft lifecam VX1000 won’t install on Windows XP SP3

Hello all

I am using OS windows XP SP3. I have recently been trying to install my Microsoft webcam on my system but I get the following error message on my screen:

Setup cannot continue because an unexpected error has occurred https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/953691/troubleshoot-installing-intellipoint-intellitype-or-lifecam-software

OK

Despite all the support and information on ms.site, it seems impossible to me to get rid of this message. I think that SP3 is creating some trouble in installing the devices.

Please tell me if I am right or wrong. I'll be waiting for any further suggestions and comments.

Regards

Hello Christopher

Here is my solution to your problem: First of all, uninstall other previously installed drivers for Microsoft Lifecam from your computer. You can do this by going to Control Panel, click Programs and then click Programs and Features. Search for Microsoft Lifecam in the list and then click Uninstall.

Reboot your computer after the uninstalling process finished. Download the latest driver for Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000 by accessing the link Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000

Before installing the driver, make sure you have disabled your antivirus and other anti-spyware protections first. Only after you disable them, you can install the driver on your computer. After the installation, restart your computer and be sure to reactivate the antivirus and other protections used.

I hope this will solve your problem.

Randolph.
