Newly bought Headset with Mic is not working

Hi guys,

I have brand new headset with mic, have a black and red port. On June 30 and July 3, I have schedule for an online interview. I need to ready my headset on that days. But the problem is when I tried to call my friend on YM, she doesn't hear me. But me, I can hear her voice. I don't know to fix it, I don't have any idea. Actually this is my first time of having a headset with mic. Before I have headset but without mic. Guys please help me, tell me the settings for this problem. Thanks.

Dear Yonce

Firstly, if you use the windows seven , in the taskbar there is a audio icon. Click right button there. select the option . in the settings box you will find out some options that which devices are active and which are inactive. There you activate your mic.

Secondly, If you use the windows XP, then from the control panel > audio settings> in the mic tab you enable the mic.

Thats your simple solution. Enjoy the interview.

Hi Yonce,

This may help to your problem.

Headsets with mics have volume switch along in their wires connected to the computer. Search for it and you will see a switch that has 1 and 0 sign. Switch it to 1 to activate your Mic.
