Hallo Raymond,

Use the following workaround to resolve the issue that you are getting:

  • Go to my Computer and click to open it, and then go to Tools, and then Folder Options, and then choose view.
  • You will need to uncheck the Hide Protected Operating Systems file, and then click Ok after that.

In the event that you are using Win XP, you will need to do the following:

  • You will to right click on the System Volume Information folder.
  • After that go to the security tab and then click add.
  • You will need to type in the name that appears in the menu – when you click on start.
  • After that you will check names.
  • In case you put it in right, the error should be fixed.
  • Click on OK after that.

Regards,

Carl

One reason why that happened to your antivirus is the amount of viruses your computer already have. Sometimes when a computer is heavily infected, the antivirus, if there is any, gets disabled. If you think your computer is already infected with a virus, download Sophos Virus Removal Tool and install it. It will install no matter how many the viruses are on your computer.

This is the best tool to use when your computer is already infected. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit. Once it is installed, wait until it finishes updating its virus signature database and then scan your computer. It will scan automatically everything it finds on your computer like connected USB devices.

Once it finds a virus after the scan, remove it then repeat the scan until it no longer detects a virus.
