For Windows Troubleshooting, make sure that the adapter is connected to the HDMI port. Ensure that the USB power is working properly. If it does not work then update your adapter’s firmware from the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app and install the necessary updates.

Or try to restart the adapter by reconnecting it.

Or see that your Windows Firewall has given proper access to your adapter.

Or try to reinstall the device’s drivers.

If you are plugging a USB flash drive on your computer and this happens, try plugging the flash drive on another USB port. Try using all available ports on your computer to troubleshoot the problem.

By default, there are four (4) USB ports included on the computer normally located at the back of the CPU and two (2) in the front panel for desktop computers and for laptops, you can find two (2) on both sides. If none of the ports worked, try formatting the flash drive.

If the USB device is not a flash drive, you need to install the device’s software or driver so the computer can properly identify it. The software is normally included in the built-in ROM drive of the device. Once you plug the USB device, open Windows Explorer then navigate to the additional drive that will appear. Look for a setup file then run it.
