Hi. The steps to host your own email server are as follows-
1) You first need to get the domain name which is the name of your computer on the internet
2) Then you need to buy a private server which is virtual and download the OS on it and make it more secure using a password
3) Then, you need to connect the server with the domain name
4) MX records need to be modified in the machine
5) Now you need to create a new server
6) Build up the mailbox and assumed name(alias)
7) Give a confirmation of you receiving the mails
8) Set an authentication for the server 9) Activate and deactivate dovecot 10) Send the mail and check
