Last night I was checking through my mails when I got this email which had different types of attachments in it. Surprisingly I cannot open attachments in outlook 2007. Help? Reply ASAP.

Now click on filein the upper left corner and click on options, then on trust center. After this click on trust center settings and open protected view. Uncheck all the boxes and then click on ok. If you are using Microsoft Office Outlook as your email client, like any other email client, email attachments have to be downloaded first. I’m not sure if other email clients supports opening of attachments directly from the email message but the right way of doing it is to always download the attachments to your hard drive. As a safety precaution always, don’t download attachments from persons you don’t know.
Also, even if you know the person who sent it, it is always a good practice to scan the files or attachments first with your antivirus before you open it. Update your antivirus and scan the downloaded files. If the attachments are compressed files like in ZIP, RAR, or 7z format, you don’t need to unpack or extract the files before scanning.
Antivirus programs are capable of scanning the files within archives. Open the attachments only if they turn out clean.
