Hello Ashley,

If you mean how to create an exact copy of the files inside your USB drive?

There's couple of simple solution out there. Here's the easy two.

  • Copy all files in your USB local drive by pressing CTRL + A and CTRL + C respectively. Create Folder in the desktop's monitor. Paste it there by pressing CTRL + V or by right clicing and select paste..
  • You can also try this. create a folder in the desktop. Open the USB local drive in the new window and minimize the tab by clicking the minimize icon above right with a minus sign(-).Select all the files inside the USB local drive by pressing CTRL+A. Then hold and press the left mouse button with the CTRL key. You should now see a plus sign with your mouse printer indicating that you are about to copy an item. Then drag and drop it to the folder to copy the whole files inside your USB.

Hope this rectifies the simple problem.

If you want to create an exact duplicate or copy of your USB flash drive and save it on a folder on your hard drive, you can do it in two (2) ways: first, copy the drive instead of the folders and second, create an image or ISO file of the drive.

First method can be done by just copying or use third-party software to copy the files accurately to avoid broken files. Download TeraCopy. I use this software whenever I need to copy something anywhere. It copies the files and folders from one location to another accurately using CRC verification. Now, when copying, select the drive instead of the folders and files.

For example, plug the USB flash drive on your computer then open Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer, right-click the drive letter for the USB flash drive and select “Copy”. After this, navigate to the folder where you want to save it then right-click and select “Paste” and then select “Copy with TeraCopy?” when you are prompted.

Another way is to create an ISO file of the drive using ImgBurn.
