Usually, computer keyboards are delicate in nature. When a keyboard is not working, there are some procedures to follow to check what is wrong with it. The first step is to check whether the keyboard is plugged in properly by checking whether there are lose connections. If not, plug in the keyboard and restart your computer. You should also connect the keyboard directly to the computer port if there is any port replicator. Try also connecting the keyboard to a different computer to check whether it is the computer having a problem. If it is not functioning on the other computer then it has a problem. You can also update the keyboard drivers and check whether the problem is still there. lastly uninstall the keyboard driver and re-install a fresh and check either it resolves. If all those steps are not working then you need to replace the keyboard.

Which type of computer are you using, a laptop or a desktop? In case it is a desktop whereby you connect the keyboard as an individual component then you have nothing to be afraid about. Sometimes the computers malfunction, and well as the components. The keyboard may be facing a temporary problem that could be fixed by doing one of the following:

• Restart the computer and then try using the keyboard.
• Try changing the port that the keyboard is connected to on the computer.
• In case the above does not work, you may try changing the keyboard and using another one to check if the problem may be with the ports on the computer.

But in case your computer is a laptop, you may need to open and check what the problem is, and that I will advise that you take the laptop to a person who has specialized in laptop repair to avoid creating even bigger problems.
