Hello Daniel.

Xmarks is actually an excellent service to use if you want to keep your bookmarks synchronized across different systems (Windows, Linux, Mac, etc.) and different browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari).  It works by installing a plug-in on your browser.

However, be aware that the current version of most browsers today already has their own method of keeping your bookmarks synchronized no matter where you browse the web from as long as you are using the same brand of browser.  Firefox has Firefox Sync, Opera has Opera Link, and Google Chrome has this synchronization feature also that only synchronizes bookmarks but even various browser settings.

Hope this helps!

If you constantly need access to bookmarks you saved and you need it in all computers you are using, try creating an account on the browser you constantly use. Most major web browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera offer users the ability to create an account. This account allows you to sync all your bookmarks and other data.

This way, when you use a different computer, you only need to sign in to your account and all the bookmarks will be synced back to the browser. For Google Chrome, you only need your Google account or Gmail account to log in your browser and sync or restore all the bookmarks and other data. To download the latest version, go to Google Chrome.

The latest version at the moment supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported. For Opera, go to Opera Account to create an account. For Firefox, download the latest Mozilla Firefox web browser. To create an account and sync all your bookmarks, in Mozilla Firefox, go to “Tools” then “Options”. In “Options” tab, select “Sync” on the left pane then click “Create Account” on the right.
