Kdenlive not working in my pc

Hello dear friends,

I am trying to play some media files, but my player is giving me an error and not playing those files.

The files are some training videos downloaded from the internet. One of my friend tried them on his pc running windows, and he said that, he is able to play them fine.

But in my case, I get the below mentioned error, while trying to play those files.

Fatal Error

Error starting MLT’s command line player (melt). MLT’s
SDL module not found. Please check your MLT install.
kdenlive will not work until this issue is fixed.

I do try to find and update for the software ,but no update is available and still  unable to play media files.

Kindly tell me how to solve this error.

Dear RowanP

For this issue :

Fatal Error
Error starting MLT’s command line player (melt). MLT’s
SDL module is not found. Please check your MLT install.
kdenlive will not work until this issue is fixed.

You need to require download and install MLT library from here : Download Link1

After installation try to install kdenlive again, i hope your this issue will be resolved and your kdenlive will work fine.

Kdenlive not working in my pc

It may be due to the error that your file is not supported by the player you are running,and that's the reason you are getting this problem. Also check that your videos does not contain some special Codec to be installed to run.

You can install this Codec to run the video. If you know the video format then you need to check that your media player also supports this format you can check it easily by going to your player settings.

Another solution to your problem is to convert your files to some other format to run them on your media player you can do it easily as well you need to download the file converter for this purpose and then put your files in this converter after this your files will be converted to your desired formats.

You can use Total video convert software for this purpose also. It is easy to install and configure.
