If you receive that error when using iTunes, first, make sure you are using the latest version. Download the latest iTunes and install it to upgrade your existing version. The latest version at the moment now supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit. iTunes dropped support for Windows XP and Windows Vista.

After updating to the latest version, try it again and see if it works. If this doesn’t work, check your internet connection. If you are using iTunes on a computer and you are connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi, check your Wi-Fi router. Try resetting it.

If the Wi-Fi router has a power button, press it to turn it off then unplug it from the power for about 10 to 20 seconds. Press any button on the router to drain any leftover power and to power cycle. After this, plug the router back to the power and turn it on.

When the router is ready, try connecting your computer to the internet again and see if it works. If you still can’t connect to the internet via Wi-Fi, try connecting your computer to the router using an Ethernet cable or LAN cable. See if this works.
