To build an attractive website, you must first know:

• What is your target audience. For instance, if your website is related to arts or music for that matter, then the overall concept of the website should be creative. If your website is related to business, then the look and feel of the website must look professional. It will then build the credibility and the image that you want to convey to the audience. Remember also, that it should be simple and the pages doesn't crowd of too much information. It is not only an eyesore but also a good way not to get your website busy.
   
• Seven seconds is all you have. Once people start visiting your site, you only have handful of seconds to keep their interest; for that matter, 7 seconds. So be sure to just put all the useful information, or just a summary that could also be linked to a page where more details can be found.
   
• Search Engine Optimization. Have you ever heard of SEO (Search Engine Optimization)? One way to get your site noticed is by making sure that your website is visible in search engines. And to do that, the website must have the specific keywords that the audience may type in search engines. The higher the ranking of your website in search engines, the more visitors you will get. Also, you can get this by backlinks to other sites and through promotion and advertising. Be sure not to submit your link to farm links as this will not be helpful.
   
• Keeping your website updated.  To make an impression that the website is active and taken care upon, make sure that your website is updated. You may put things like quote of the day, tip of the day, or better yet keep a blog. It only not makes an impression that the site is active, but search engines gives it a plus in rankings that your website is updated frequently.
   
• Calling to action. If you have a business site and a visitor that would like to make a request, make sure that you get his/her email. It is to guide them to be a potential customer, so you need to nourish it and take care of it as they will help you make more visitors through referral. You can also give them samples of your product or a demo of what your services are or an offer so that it will perk up their interest on buying your services or product. Remember that each visitors/ potential customer has different stages of readiness. Make sure to speak in an interactive and friendly tone.
   
• User friendly. The secret for having an attractive website is to make sure that your site is easy to navigate. Remember that visitors are only keeping a certain amount of interest with them, so a site with complicated links and interface may lose their interest and may move on to another site. Make sure that you know your audience and what they may want from you, so highlight it and make it very visible so that it will be easy to use. You may also provide a search bar in your website so that they can access it from there.
