Internet Explorer showing error while opening many pages

I was writing an article in Word of about 3 pages and I also had to do a lot of research for it, so many pages of the Internet Explorer were open. When I saw how many of them I had opened I tried to close some of them and a window appeared with the following message. Can someone please tell me why did this happen?

This program is not responding.

To return to Window and check the status of the

Hi Nadiajgoff,

Regarding your concern, it seems that your computer's ram (random access memory) cannot withstand all the programs running at one time. Thus it is not able to catch up. It may also be possible that the program showing an error might be corrupted or infected.

Basic troubleshooting would be to focus on opening that program alone, if it still shows an error despite it being the only window that's opened, do a virus scan on that file.

Internet Explorer showing error while opening many pages

Hi,

The reason for that error occurred is that your computer can't handle too many opened applications. To prevent things like that from happening, you have to make sure your Windows is up-to-date, hardware of your computer is functioning well especially hard drives or your RAM. It happens if your computer is running slow.
