Here are some of the guidelines that intel show or say that an ultra book should have those requirements. The ultrabook will be a thin less than (0.8 inches thick) notebook that has intel processor and also incorporates tablet features such as touch screen with a long battery life.

According to them Intel ultrabook are designed to feature reduced size and weight, and extended battery life without compromising performance. The ultrabook should use low power intel processors with integrated graphics and solid state drivers for it to become very responsive and to have a unibody meaning the chassis will fit larger batteries on small cases.

But because it is so thin there will be limited external ports that can be use. Here is the ultrabook specifications, they have 3 platform, 1.huron river-processor -sandy bridge microarchitecture intel core models CULV(17W TDP),maximum height-18mm for 13.3inch.21mm for 14.inch.battery life- 5 hours, resume from hibernation 7secs.storage-none,ports -no requirements, software and firmware-Intel management 7.1or higher, with anti Intel Anti Thief technology and Intel Anti Identity Protection Technology.

The other two platform are Chief River and Shark Bay with the ultrabook specifications still in progress.
