Hello guys,

I would like to get your assistance on my problem with Microsoft Word. I installed Microsoft Office on my computer running Windows 7. Then when I try to use Word processor for typing my reports, I cannot change fonts because I get the error message below. I have tried restarting the application many times with no success. Any help will be appreciated.

Error – There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font.

Hello Joseph.

The challenge you face might be connected to the Microsoft Word you installed. You have to be  cocksure of the software you install in order to avoid these challenges.

However, I have two options for you.

First alternative.

  1. Open the Microsoft create "old.dot" in your C:Program Files (x86) Microsoft Office Office 12 1033 Quick StylesOffice (Default place for '*.dot' template).
  2. Then Reboot.

Second option.

  1. Click on the Start button.
  2. In the Search box, type in "normal.dot".
  3. Look for "Search Hidden File" in the search option and make sure it is checked.
  4. If you cannot locate "Search Hidden File", then search for *.dot from the Start Menu.
  5. Step 3 and 4 are hidden files. So you should be certain to have checked "Show Hidden File" in the folder options.
  6. However, if you can locate "normal.dot", you should rename it "old.dot" and restart your system.
  7. You can now open Microsoft Word which will create a new normal.dot template.

You can now enjoy your typing. I hope this helps.

Regards
