There are two possibilities that are creating this issue.

  • The image or some of windows files have been corrupted. To resolve this issue try using a new image or change the dvd.
  • Another reason that might be creating this trouble is the systems hardware. The driver.cab file is directly associated with the systems main memory or better to say RAM. So, trying the memory diagnostics may be much helpful in this.

I had experience this before initially I also thought it might be a problem with my installation source and I tried another source. I was getting the issue again and again with every installation. Finally I checked my hardware configuration. I had plugged a new RAM to my computer and now I had two RAMs in two slots. I found out that the BUS speeds are different so I removed a one RAM and tried the installation. It worked perfectly.

According to my experience I can tell you if you have two RAMs installed remove one and then try the installation.

Dear Densiehope,

Thanks for asking.

Dear the driver.cab is a file of 75 MB. All the drivers of the system are in this file.

Now dear it seems that your computer's CD/DVD Drive is not in correct form. Means it does not read the files properly.

Or it is also seems that your CD Disc has scratches on it so that it does not allow the CD Drive to read the file.

Please replace the CD Disc and try again. If you see the same problem, then replace your CD DVD Drive.

I hope you will never see this error again.

Thanks
