“Installation failed” error while installing printer

Does anyone know the reason that why an error with the message “Installation failed” occurs when I try to install a printer on my laptop?

“Installation failed” error while installing printer

Your computer does not recognize the hardware changes immediately. You may try these steps so it would be able to work:

• Open Computer Management console
• Go to Device Manager – WSD Print Provider
• Right click 'WSD Print Device' & click uninstall
• Install printer normally using add printer wizard.
• Now installation will fail with same error message.
• In device manager – right click on the name of your computer & select scan for Hardware Changes.
• Now it will find the newly installed device & the printer will work properly.

“Installation failed” error while installing printer

The printer may show installation failure if the printer driver or installer is not compatible with the operating system that you have. Depending on your operating system e.g. Windows XP or Vista, you must obtain the updated driver from the printer's website and once you've downloaded it, you can now proceed with the installation process by running the EXE FILE of the printer, which you can find on the downloads folder or whatever folder you usually download files on your laptop.

Run and follow the instruction on the screen. Be sure to have your printer connected via USB port on your laptop and must be turned off while in installation process. After you successfully installed it, you can now open it and use it.

You can also checked if it's properly installed via Control Panel Folder in Start Menu.

I can print all I want now.

I was able to detect the cause of all the error showing during the installation of my printer.

“Installation failed” error while installing printer

Installing the driver or the printer software on your computer is no different when installing a normal program or a game. Before installing any application, check that your computer meets the requirements. If you are installing the driver from the setup CD that came with your product, check the manual that came with it and check the system requirements of the software.

If the software is not compatible with your computer, one workaround is to download the driver from the manufacturer’s website. This allows you to select the correct driver for your machine. Open your web browser and visit the printer manufacturer’s website. You can find the URL or the address of the website printed on the manual or in the packaging of the device.

On the website, click the “Support” tab or link to go to the support page. In there, enter your printer’s serial number or model number to search. You can find it printed on the side or bottom of your device. When your product is located, click it to go to the download page. Download and install all available driver and software for your machine.
