I’ve heard about Instagram and I’m quite interested about it. Is there any Mobile System Requirement for its Application? To what mobile phone is it compatible? Please help.

Instagram Compatibility for mobile phones

Hello Abel Zurich,

Instagram is a freeware that allows you to take pictures and share it on social networking sites. It got its name from the word “instant” and telegrams referring to the photos. The application was launch last 2010. It has the Polaroid camera effect wherein you could only take square shots.

It also allows you to adjust brightness and colors. It was recently acquired by Facebook. It was initially developed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch however last April 12; it is now available for Android phones running 2.2 (Froyo) or higher. The software could be downloaded online for free on Google play. Below is an example of photos enhanced by instagram.

Instagram for android phone is compatible with a camera phone with Android OS 2.2 and above, but it is first offered for iPhone.

According to the website the inspiration about instagram is the Polaroid cameras who marketed themselves as instant, its the snapshot that people were taking were like telegrams, so they combine the two instant and telegrams, that how the software apps called instagram is born.
