What are Magnetic Hinged keyboard? Are they better than normal keyboard ?

It will be really helpful if you can give me details.

Magnetic hinge technology uses advanced magnetic technology to hold the keyboard together in place. Magnetic hinges are usually seen in iPad smart covers. Another property of magnetic hinge is that it aligns perfectly and effortlessly. It is simple and a genius innovation. The magnetic hinge makes enables to fold the keyboard in perfect orientation. In iPads, you will have to remove the ipad from the hinge and place it in the slot for using the keyboard.

One of the disadvantages is that the magnetic hinge is not as strong as the usual hinge, but still it can hold the position locked without any functional problems. The problem is that the keyboard can come apart very easily, so you’ll have to be extra careful

 

Magnetic keyboards are better than normal ones when we look it's compactness and streamlined design, but strength is the limiting factor

I think the magnetic hinged keyboard you are asking refers to the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover. It is not only a cover but a keyboard as well. It merges the Apple Smart Cover with a full keyboard. The device is actually thinner than the new iPad and only weighs a few ounces.

The magnetic hinge used by the Smart Cover is the same magnetic hinge used to fasten it to the iPad. Once it is attached, folding it closed creates a single unit that you can carry anywhere. When it is closed the brushed aluminum bottom of the cover is shown giving you a solid aluminum surface combined with the back of the iPad. See image.

To use the keyboard on the iPad, the iPad needs to be placed into the white slot on the keyboard with the iPad home button to the right. You will hear a click after placing it on the keyboard. See image.

The keyboard has a strong magnet that grasps the iPad tightly in the keyboard. You can actually lift the entire unit holding the top of the iPad. That’s how strong the magnet is.
