Hello friends on techyv, I am planning to reformat my laptop completely. I want all my usernames and passwords to be stored somewhere so that after I reformat the computer I can just restore them back. Does anyone know if this can be done? Can I store the information on a hard drive?

Hi, It is very important to save your file, password and usernames before reformatting your laptop. Yes you can store it to a hard drive or if you have an external drive that is a much better thing to do. Just send the file to your hard drive or to your external drive. Hope this helps you.

Hi

You cannot be able to store your user names and password in the same disk after you formatted it. The term format means deleting all the files which consist in the hard disk drive. If you have any other optional or external hard disk you can store it and get it back. Or else there are other ways to store your user name s and password or any of your documents. Just send all your data’s to flash drive. Or write all the data’s in DVD or cd. Or you can save your documents in your mail as well.

I hope this idea is helps you to come out from this problem. That’s all. Thank you.

Hi Noel Leal,

Dear there are many methods to save your passwords and usernames.

1. You can copy all the usernames and passwords to a text file and save it in your flash drive or other portable media. After formatting your computer, you can restore these usernames and passwords later.

2. You can create a restore point of your browser's cache, save this restore point to flash drive. When you finish the formatting, restore this later.

I hope these two methods will help you.

Thanks and happy computing.
