Hello,

I want to create a big abstract oval. I am using Windows 7 operating system and adobe Photoshop cs5 editing software; can you teach me some technique to draw an abstract oval easily? I need some guidance or simple instruction to make one.

I want to create a big abstract oval.

Dear user,

You can make your desired shape by following these simple steps:

1) Open your new canvas and make fairly large, i.e 800 pixels or more.

2) Click on the toolbar and select "eclipse" tool.

3) Select "geometry option", it is on the option bar.

4) Now you can see that there are five different sizes of eclipse, you can select whatever the you need as shown in the following figure:

I want to create a big abstract oval.

Hi Jayden Horribol,

What do mean by “abstract”? I can tell you how to create an oval in Photoshop. But, how abstract your oval is depends on your technique or combination of techniques you apply after that.

Open your Photoshop > create a new layer > use Ellipse Marquee tool to create an oval.

Now I give you some suggestion to make your oval more abstract.

Method 1: Go to menu Select > Modify > Feather > type a number > press Enter > fill your oval with a color. Feather will give your oval a soft edge > go to menu Select > Deselect.

Method 2: Fill your oval with a color > go to menu Select > Deselect > go to menu Layer > Layer Style > in Blending Option pop-up window, there are many style you can apply to your oval. Click on each style to see how your oval changes.

Method 3: Fill your oval with a color > go to menu Select > Deselect > go to menu Filter. You will see a list of filter. Choose one by one to see how your oval changes, and then choose the one you like best. (In general, filter is effect made by Photoshop, and you can apply to your drawing).

I give you three methods, but you can make your own creation.
