I need tips on how to use Google Desktop

Where can I download Google Desktop and is it a freeware?  Can it detect all the files on my PC accurately and can I use it to index and arrange my files?  Would it also work on a Mac?

Hello

Google desktop is a simple but a very versatile tool. It is a freeware and built to be used on various operating systems such as Mac, Linux and Windows platforms. This software can be downloaded from SOFTONIC and many others.

It allows a user to text search their computer files and arranges them thus becoming easily accessible after indexing. Indexing may take a long time if it is used for the first time.

Google Desktop is  able to update  photos, chats,  emails, news feeds, web history and  lots more. With Google desktop your info is in one place.

I think it’s already too late if you want to download Google Desktop. It is a cross-platform application designed by Google that supports leading operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. It’s actually a program used for searching the computer’s local hard drive. It’s mainly used to do text searches on the computer for email messages, viewed web pages, music files, chats, pictures, including different computer files stored locally in the hard drive. It also shows a Sidebar on the desktop that shows the Google Gadgets.

The reason why I said that it’s too late for you to download it on your computer is that in September 14, 2011, Google announced that they will be putting a stop on the development and future updates of the program. The one big reason why they thought of doing this is because of the gaining popularity of cloud-based services. Because most of the users nowadays are already moving from local storage to cloud-based storage service.
