what is it?

I need help with VPN

A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that uses the Internet to provide remote offices or traveling users an access to a central network.

The VPN uses virtual connections routed through the Internet from a private network to the remote site. By using a VPN, you assure security, as anyone intercepting the encrypted data won't be able to read it.

You will find that some VPN softwares are free, such as Hotspot Shield, while other require a monthly fee but provide better speeds, unlimited bandwidth and higher security. A quick experimentation with them will get you up to speed in no time.

I need help with VPN

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. This type of network extends or expands a private network across a public network like the web or the internet. A Virtual Private Network allows a computer to send and receive data across public or shared networks as if the computer is really connected to the private network while receiving the advantage of the functionality, management and security policies of the private network.

The connection applied in a virtual private network uses tunneling to encrypt the data transmitted across the network. Because of the restrictions of certain countries in the use of internet, there are times certain websites are blocked and cannot be accessed. This is when a virtual private network comes in handy.

It allows you to open and access websites that are normally blocked in your country. When you are using a VPN to access the internet, your actual IP address is masked. You will be assigned with a different IP address therefore appearing as if you were located in a different country and that’s how you are able to view blocked websites.

There are VPN providers that assigns only one IP address to your computer but there are also that provides different IP address each time you connect. One example of a service that provides virtual private network is PD-Proxy.
