I have got myself Symantec Anti-Virus updated version i.e., 8.0. All I want is to install it in my personal computer and set my computer system so that it acts as an Anti-Virus Server platform. But during installation process it results in an error message saying the following string.

“The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable” How could I proceed?

Error:

Symantec AntiVirus

Error 1714 The older version of Symantec AntiVirus cannot be removed.Contact your technical support group.

Hi,

I think there's an error while trying to overwrite the old one you have. From the dialog box it said the it failed to remove the older one. When you encounter this error upon installation, abort and remove the old version manually. You can do it using this steps:

1. Go to Start menu.

2. Click Run.

3. Type "appwiz.cpl" on the input box and hit enter key.

4. Look for the Systematic Antivirus from the list and double click to uninstall.

5. Once successfully remove. Reboot.

Recheck the Program Feature by doing the steps above. Search for it in the list. It should be there anymore.

Now try installing the new version.

I hope it helps.
