Hi Vicky Dodson

Huawei ideos series is really a affordable series. Users can enjoy Android featured phones at low cost. This is very charming especially for Asian markets. But reduction in cost comes with some compromise, Same is the case with Huawei ideos X5. Hardware wise it is not best quality phone. With its single core processor and 2 Mp camera its battery is 1500mAh. This battery power is quite low for an Android phone. Battery of X5 drains very quickly even when at stand by mod. Practically talk time is quite low and overheating is also observed during continuous use. But the problem is not so big to avoid the phone especially when you are short of money.

There are some ways to optimize the battery timing. Always keep your screen resolution at low levels, turn off WIFi after use, keep your 3G mod off when not in use, minimize the use of network data. Above said precaution can help to improve battery time and any overheating.

Next model Ideos S7 is with 2200mAh battery and expected to have improved battery life. So if you can afford then think about Ideos S7.

I hope it will be helpful

Regards.
