How to root a ZTE director phone safely?

I have a ZTE director (n850l) which is a low end android phone. I want to root it and can not figure it out. There is a lot of information about the ZTE director but nothing about how to root it. I do not want to mess up the phone with doing something stupid. Can somebody please tell me how to root it? If the rooting goes bad, is the phone recoverable?

Hello,

 

Rooting your phone to achieve better and more diverse performance is certainly understandable, but specialized knowledge is requisite. If you do not have extensive experience with this type of hardware (i.e., an engineering background), there is a huge risk of what many refer to as “bricking” your phone. If you need the device for certain purposes and cannot afford to irreparably damage it, do not attempt to root your phone. Acquire cheap or abandoned hardware to experiment with.
