I forgot the month that I should pay the domain host. I want to know it is possible to redeem expired domain cost-efficiently. Is there anyone who has experience on this? I am sure I am not the only one who went through this. Please share to me how you recovered the domain! Thanks!

How to recover expired domain names cost-efficiently?

When a domain expires it enters into the “Grace Period”. The grace period is upto 30 days long and you are able to renew the domain anytime during these days. If in any case you fail to renew your domain it will go to the "Redemption period".

In Redemption Period, The registrar of domain becomes the owner and they have two choices, they can sale the domain through auction, or if the domain generates PPC revenue they can retain it. If acquired domain does not generate any revenue or it is not sold through auctions the registrar sets the domain free. So, its upto the registrar that they could give you the domain or not. You have to contact your registrar to get the domain back.
